Hello one and all, my name is Mr. Thames (last name pronounced Tims) 

Let me tell you a little bit about me...

I love family time, camping, drawing.  

I am a Doctor Who, Hobbit/LOTR, Sherlock, Star Wars, Star Trek fan and I love attending sci-fi conventions, I used to do cosplay but not so much now that I am older. 

I love 80's music, classic rock, Jazz, and some current music.

I have been married for 30 years to the most wonderful, beautiful, and supportive woman in the world and recently retired 5th grade science teacher.  

I have 2 beautiful daughters.  My youngest daughter is a 2025 high school graduate and my oldest daughter is a 2018 high school graduate.

I am a Dallas Baptist University graduate with a Bachelor of Arts and Science in Computer Information Science with a minor in Art. 

I am certified in Business Education 6-12 and Technology Applications EC-12.

For over 10 years I worked extensively in the Graphic Design and Advertising field with such customers as AT&T, NEC, MTV, Nick-at-Nite, Nickelodeon, and the City of Grand Prairie. 

In September 2001 I had finally had enough and I said goodbye to the corporate world to work in the education field. 

My first job was with the Alvarado ISD (October 2001 - January 2009) where I worked First as a Computer Tech and then for several years at the high school before turning my eyes toward Venus; NO not the planet, the town. 

January 2009 - June 2015 I worked with the Venus ISD as a CTE (Career and Technology Education) instructor teaching Principles of AAVTC, Graphic Design, Animation, Digital Forensics, Video Game Programming, Mobile App Development, and BIM.

After Venus, I went to work for the Burleson ISD school district at the new STEAM Middle School for the 2015-2016 school year.  After a year in Burleson I headed south and back to high school.

For the 2016-2017 school year I made a stop-off at the Itasca ISD in Itasca, just south of Grandview.  

For the 2017-2019 school years I taught at ACA (Arlington Classics Academy) Middle School grades 6-9 in Arlington.

Finally, my last Middle School stop (2019-2022) was for 3 years at Reagan Middle School in Grand Prairie ISD.

I am starting my fourth year here at Joshua High School.  I am EXTREMELY excited to be a part of the Owl Nation and I look forward to meeting all of you and to the journey that we shall be embarking on together.  It should be an interesting one.
