Welcome! My name is Mrs. Garcia, and I am honored to teach English I to our 9th grade students. I am passionate about helping students grow as readers, writers, and critical thinkers as they begin their high school journey.
I hold a Bachelor’s degree in English and a Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction, both from Texas Wesleyan University. I am a certified English Language Arts teacher and have been teaching since 2014. I’m also proud to be recognized as a TIA Exemplary Teacher, a distinction that reflects both student growth and professional excellence in the classroom.
In my teaching, I strive to create a supportive and engaging environment where students feel encouraged to challenge themselves, think deeply, and express their ideas with confidence. I prioritize building student confidence through independent reading, academic writing, and collaborative learning.
Outside the classroom, I enjoy reading, staying active, and spending time with family and friends. I also value being an active part of our school community and collaborating with families to support student success.
Please feel free to reach out—I'm looking forward to a great year ahead!
