Class overview
Geography is the study of places and the relationships between people and their environments. Geographers explore both the physical properties of Earth’s surface and the human societies spread across it. They also examine how human culture interacts with the natural environment and the way that locations and places can have an impact on people. Geography seeks to understand where things are found, why they are there, and how they develop and change over time.
About Me
My name is R. Devin Brown and this is my second year at Joshua High School's Ninth Grade Campus. I was born and raised in Fort Worth, but I have lived in many cities across Texas, as well as, living in South Korea for five years where I taught English as a second language.
I am blessed to have a wife and two young children and I enjoy spending as much time with them as possible. My hobbies include reading (a lot), practicing martial arts (mostly judo and jujitsu), watching sports, getting out in nature, and spending time talking with people.
I enjoy teaching geography because I love traveling and learning about new cultures and ways of living. It is my hope that students will learn about our world, and the people who live on it, so that they can go and explore it with the same curiosity that led me to travel to many interesting places.
