Head Choir Director
Chris Wilson
Chris Wilson has a wide range of musical experience, including performing many diverse musical styles (barbershop classical, jazz, gospel, and musical theater), teaching at several age levels, directing church choirs, teaching private voice, and playing a variety of instruments. This is Chris’ 22nd year in public education as a choir director, and he is excited to be joining the Joshua High School choir program. Chris graduated from the University of Texas at Arlington with a Bachelor's in Music Education, where he performed with the Chamber Singers, A Cappella Choir, Vocal Jazz Ensemble, Concert Band, and Marching band. He also performed with Vocal Majority Men’s Chorus, and Paradigm Vocal Ensemble. In addition to his role as a public-school educator, Chris is also a church music director. He is currently the music director at University UMC in Fort Worth where he directs the choir for their traditional service. Chris is a sought-out choir clinician, and his choirs consistently earn Sweepstakes and First Division ratings at UIL competitions. Chris is married to his wonderful wife Heather, and they have three children Nevaeha, Nathaniel and Noelle.
Assistant Choir Director
Elyssa Williams
Elyssa Williams is starting her first year of teaching at Joshua ISD and is excited to share her passion for music with the Joshua High School Choir!
Elyssa completed college at Texas Wesleyan University in Fort Worth, Texas where she earned her Bachelor of Music and All-Level Music Teaching certification. At Texas Wesleyan, she performed in the Wesleyan Chamber Singers, Wesleyan Chorale, Ram Band, and Mariachi. Ms.Williams also competed in the Texhoma NATS (National Association for Teachers of Singing) competition during her time at Texas Wesleyan. Elyssa grew up in a small town near Houston, Texas where she first grew her love of music.
