Welcome to reading language arts/esl!

I’m excited to begin my 10th year with Joshua ISD and my 7th year at Loflin Middle School, where I teach ESL and 8th-grade Reading Language Arts. Before joining LMS, I taught 5th-grade Bilingual ELAR at Caddo Grove Elementary. This year, I’m excited to teach 8th-grade Reading while also supporting our Emergent Bilingual students through ESL. I truly enjoy helping my students grow academically, strengthen their English language skills, and build confidence as learners.

I’m looking forward to an incredible school year filled with meaningful learning experiences and continued growth!

English as a Second Language (ESL)

The ESL program is designed to help Emergent Bilingual students become proficient in listening, speaking, reading, and writing in English. Instruction is content-based and aligned with the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) and the English Language Proficiency Standards (ELPS).
