Honors Algebra II is a continuation of the algebraic processes begun in Honors Algebra I. This course introduces students to more advanced functions with the goal of developing a strong conceptual understanding of the multiple representations of these functions. This course will focus on 4 representations of functions:
Algebraic representation.
Numerical (tables) representation.
Graphical representation.
Verbal representation.
In this course, students will strengthen problem solving skills and use discovery processes to enhance critical thinking skills. Prerequisites for this course include a solid understanding of previous math courses, the ability to think abstractly and be strong problem solvers. Students are encouraged to work together with peers and teacher to develop independent thinking skills.
Students must be disciplined to complete daily assignments and motivated to study at levels that require depth of thinking and rigor.
