OHMS is introducing an Accelerated Math program for 7th and 8th grades, replacing the previous Honors classes. This program will cover all 7th, 8th, and Secondary 1 math content over two years. Students eligible for this path should have scored a 3 or higher on their 5th grade math RISE test, and maintained a B or higher throughout 6th grade math. The Accelerated Math teacher will review each applicant's 6th grade math RISE score to ensure the accelerated program is the best option. This change aims to provide enhanced opportunities for Accelerated Math students and addresses the learning gaps caused by skipping 7th grade math. There is no placement test for this program.
