A performance-based class for all students who want to improve their singing. Students perform with the class in an evening concert each quarter. Students in this class have little homework, more chances to be with their friends, and lots of fun! This class prepares students for the full year classes available in 8th and 9th grades. A special award is given to all students who take choir during all three years at SHMS.

Tiger Choir, Choir 1—Soprano/Alto, Full Year
A full year advanced women’s choir class, primarily for 8th graders who wish to continue singing in choir. This is the class for people who love to sing! Students should have completed any music class (or participated in the school musical) to feel prepared for this class. Students will perform in festivals, field trips, assemblies, and evening concerts.
Concert Choir, Full Year
A full year mixed choir class for 8th and 9th graders. This is the most advanced choir class at the school. Students should have taken a choir class before to feel successful in this class. Similar to Tiger Choir, students will perform in festivals, field trips, assemblies, and evening concerts.
Musical Theatre, 1 Semester
A performance class for students who want to be in a musical theatre production. Students should have completed a music course, a theatre course, or participated in the school musical to enroll in this course. Students will learn musical theatre technique while preparing a full production to be performed at the end of the term.
8th & 9th Graders may also take Choir 1.
