Meet the Teacher

Meet Miss Gifford

This is my ninth year teaching at Jordan Ridge Elementary and I absolutely love our school and our community. I get to spend time with the best people in the world every single day!

My Family

I grew up in Magna, Utah with three younger brothers. I have a dog named Magnus, he is a yorkipoo and extremely adorable. My parents both work for an airline corporation, so I have had the opportunity to travel a lot with my family and have learned to love traveling and exploring new places.

My Interests

I am very passionate about literature; I have loved to read since I was a little girl and learned to do all of my chores while also reading a book. I always hope that my love of books rubs off on my students. You'll find that I also love history, movies, and music. I was in a Madrigals group when I was in high school and I play a little bit of guitar. I probably watch too much TV, but I don't think it counts if I exercise while I watch Netflix. I enjoy hiking and being outside. I'm convinced that the best place in the world is Disneyland and the best smells in the world are fresh baked bread and fresh baked chocolate chip cookies.

My Education

I graduated from Brigham Young University where I studied Elementary Education and English (go Cougars!) I studied to receive certification in teaching Gifted and Talented Students with Southern Utah University. Additionally, I graduated with a Masters of Education degree from Southern Utah University. I love to learn just as much as I love to teach!
