A little bit about Mrs. McDermott

• Grew up in South Salt Lake and graduated from Granite High
• Attended the University of Utah for my Bachelor of Music Education
• Attended Columbia University, Teachers College for my Master of Music Education
• Been teaching for 20 years
• Have a husband and 3 kids all still in elementary
• String bass is my main instrument. I can play all the instruments but am better at baritone (small tuba) and electric bass. I can hold my own on cello and am horrible at piano but I can fake pretty well
• My favorite color is RED (Go UTES!)
• I love (but shouldn't drink) Coke Zero and Diet Dr. Pepper, Fiiz, all things chocolate and warm bread out of the oven
• I dislike avocado, cinnamon gum and mushy vegetables
• Things that make me happy: my family and friends, all things Disney, cheering for the Utes, good music, pedicures, traveling
