Weekly Update
Dear Parents and Carers,
At JOPS, we are dedicated to ensuring our students feel happy, safe, and truly heard. We are currently focusing closely on Article 12 of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, which states that every child has the right to express their views freely in all matters affecting them, and to have those views taken seriously.
We believe that our pupils offer the best insights into making our school a fantastic place to learn. Whether they are sharing ideas through our Pupil Parliament, voting for songs during singing assembly, or discussing their learning in class, our children’s voices shape our daily decisions.
When children know their opinions matter, their confidence thrives. We encourage you to explore this at home too! Why not ask your child what they think about weekend plans or family meals? By listening to them, we help them grow into confident, responsible citizens. Thank you for partnering with us to champion our children's rights!

Free School Meals Funding
Each year the school receives funding for children who are eligible for Free School Meals. Recently a new system has been introduced which requires all eligible families to reapply. Some families may be unsure as to whether they are eligible so we would encourage every family to complete the following form to find out. This funding is vital to help the school support its children and provide opportunities for our most disadvantaged children so please use the following link:
SCHOOL CAPTAINS 2026-27
I am pleased to annouce that this year's school captains are Noah (6L) and Chloe (6B). The vice captains are Zachary (6L) and Chester (6L). Well done to all of the candidates who put themselves forward for the roles. They should be proud of the Aspiration they showed during the process.

JOPSPA EVENT
MacMillan Coffee Morning
Our first JOPSPA event of the year is next Friday 25th September 2026. Our annual MacMillan Coffee Morning and JOPSPA AGM will be in the infant hall after drop off. All welcome to join in for a coffee, cake and chat.
All cakes bought or baked are welcome, please bring to the office before 25th or bring them when you arrive (ingredient list to be included and remember we are a nut free school).
Come along and see what roles we have vacant, if you would be interested in becoming a Trustee or just become a volunteer? All help is welcome and appreciated.

Parking Notice
There has been an increase in complaints from residents on Winchester Ave, Westbury and the Cathedral Estate with regards to parking.
If we can please be mindful that residents need access to their driveway's to get to work/ drop their children to school, therefore please do not block the entrance to any driveway.
