Helping Everyone Grow and Flourish
IDENTITY INTEGRITY ASPIRATION
Weekly Update
Dear Parents and Carers,
As we reach the end of another incredibly busy and productive half term, I want to take this opportunity to extend a heartfelt thank you to our entire school community. Your continued support, engagement, and partnership with the school make a tremendous difference to our childrens' learning journeys, and we are deeply grateful for everything you do.
It has been a truly wonderful final week of the half term, packed with energy, enthusiasm, and some fantastic enrichment activities across the year groups. Providing our children with hands-on, memorable learning experiences which help them to grow and flourish is a core part of our mission, and this week was a perfect showcase of that.
Our Year 4 pupils had a brilliant local adventure as they swapped the classroom for the great outdoors with a trip to the Cranham Marsh Nature Reserve. The children thoroughly enjoyed exploring the local wildlife, learning about marshland ecosystems, and putting their geography and science skills into practice. It was a joy to see them so engaged with the natural environment right on our doorstep.
Back at school, history truly came alive for our younger and older students alike. Year 2 stepped back in time for an immersive history workshop in a Victorian school. The children dove into the past with great curiosity, asking insightful questions and finding out how life was different for children in Victorian times. Meanwhile, Year 5 were transported to the age of long ships and raids during their action-packed Viking workshop. The day was filled with vibrant storytelling and historical re-enactments that left the children buzzing with facts about Norse culture.
We must also share a massive expression of gratitude to our incredible JOPSPA team. The success of their community hub this half term was a standout highlight. Thank you to everyone involved in organizing the hub, volunteering their time, and providing much-needed refreshments to our families. Additionally, the pre-loved uniform stall was a massive success, helping us promote sustainability while supporting our school community. The dedication of the JOPSPA team ensures our school remains a warm, welcoming, and collaborative place for everyone.
Thank you once again for your unwavering support throughout this half term. We hope you all have a restful, safe, and enjoyable half term break, and we look forward to welcoming the children back on Monday 2nd November.
Take care,
Mr Fielder

BOOK OF THE WEEK
The Boy Who Cried Skunk by Liam Spicer is a hilarious, fast-moving chapter book perfect for reluctant readers. Desperate for attention, Oliver P. Pendleton the Third tells a lie about a skunk in the house. When a real skunk appears, his family ignores his honest cries. This delightful modern fable cleverly teaches children about honesty, trust, and consequences. Perfect for 7-10 year-olds.
