My name is Courtney Decker. My students will call me Ms. Decker. I was born in May. I am currently a teacher at Math and Science Magnet School in the Jonesboro School District. I am a strong supporter for education. I believe that education is a tool that anyone can use to achieve their dreams.
I want any student of mine to recognize that everyone has dreams and that success and achievement of those dreams come from hard work and dedication. I am here to help my students achieve their goals for the future. I will challenge them to do their best. I will always try to inspire each student to find what inspires and motivates them. I will support their learning interests within my classroom.
We will work together to discover, explore and attain the knowledge we will need to have a successful year together. We will communicate with each other to determine challenges and frustrations to overcome. The expectations may be high but not unachievable. I know that we will be able to do anything we put our minds to. Everyone has the ability to learn and grow just in their own ways and on their own time.
I graduated from Arkansas State University in May of 2016. I earned a Bachelor's degree in Teaching with an Emphasis in Special Education.
Our Daily Goal
Each day:
Depending on the objective the student will either complete the activity at that time or will use the week to complete the activity. They work at the pace that best supports their needs.
Our Team works hard to support, encourage and motivate each of our students. We facilitate learning by providing each student with learning opportunities that accommodates each of their unique individual learning styles. Many times if a student is not understanding one of our objectives, we slow down and try a different method to understand the lesson and work out the problem.
We want to help each student learn and communicate the best they can. It's ok to struggle and have bad days but it doesn't have to define our attitude! The expectations may be high but not unachievable. I know that we will be able to do anything we put our minds to. Everyone has the ability to learn and grow just in their own ways and on their own time.
