Attention students!
Have you ever wanted to try something new, get stronger, make new friends, and have a lot of fun? Then wrestling might be the sport for you!
The Boys and Girls Wrestling Team is looking for new members, and everyone is welcome—even if you've never wrestled before! If you're willing to learn and work hard, we'll teach you everything you need to know.
Wrestling is a one-on-one sport where athletes use skill, strength, balance, and strategy to compete. The goal is to score points by controlling your opponent or pinning both of their shoulders to the mat.
Here are a few basics:
Takedown: Bring your opponent safely to the mat and stay in control.
Escape: Break free from your opponent and get back to a standing position.
Reversal: Turn the match around by gaining control of your opponent.
Near Fall: Hold your opponent's shoulders close to the mat to earn extra points.
Pin: Hold both of your opponent's shoulders on the mat to win the match.
Wrestling is not about punching, kicking, or fighting. It's a sport that teaches technique, hard work, and respect.
You'll:
Get stronger and improve your fitness.
Build confidence and mental toughness.
Make new friends and be part of a team.
Learn discipline, responsibility, and how to push yourself to reach your goals.
Have the chance to compete and represent your school.
Whether you're already involved in sports or just looking for something new to try, wrestling has a place for you.
If you're interested in joining the Boys or Girls Wrestling Team, sign up today or talk to one of the coaches for more information.
Step onto the mat, challenge yourself, and see what you're capable of. We hope to see you this season!
