I am a proud 1980 graduate of Jonesboro High School. I attended the University of Central Arkansas, where I earned a Bachelor of Science in Education in Family and Consumer Sciences (1985). Two years later, I completed my Master of Science in Education in Family and Consumer Sciences (1987). This school year marks my 42nd year as an educator, and I continue to love helping students learn and grow.
I have been happily married to my best friend, Revis, for 44 years. Together we have two wonderful daughters, both graduates of Jonesboro High School.
Our oldest daughter, Nicole, is married to Chris Gooch and teaches 5th and 6th grade Science and History in Conway. They have two sons who share the same birthday, despite being born seven years apart. Cameron is a ninth grader who enjoys competitive swimming, cross country, and basketball. His younger brother, Cooper, is in second grade and keeps everyone on their toes with his endless energy. Cooper also enjoys competitive swimming and baseball.
Our youngest daughter, Elisabeth, married her high school sweetheart, Matt Pagan. They live in Fayetteville, Arkansas, where Elisabeth serves as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) at Washington Regional Urgent Care. They have one son, Owen Matthew, who will celebrate his second birthday in November.
When I'm not teaching, I treasure spending time with my family. Some of my favorite places include Hilton Head and Universal Studios, and I never pass up the chance to spend a day at the beach or ride a great roller coaster. One item at the top of my bucket list this year is taking a family ski trip to Keystone during Christmas.
