WELCOME: to Family and Consumer Sciences (FCS)! As a classroom teacher, I am starting my 41st year. I am a lifelong learner and dedicated educator whose primary goal is to help students recognize and develop their potential. The Family and Consumer Sciences curriculum and the Career Technical Student Organization (CTSO), Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA), offer students the opportunities to attain success through the development of their creative and critical thinking skills, vocational preparation, personal growth, and academic achievement. Truly, the FCS curriculum and involvement in FCCLA can help students apply academics to life skills that will propel them to prosper in every aspect of their lives-socially, physically, intellectually, emotionally, and morally. The opportunity is there, and I desire each student to seize that opportunity, take responsibility for their learning, and exceed expectations to become positive, productive members of society.
I love teaching. I believe you must have passion and love for kids in order to teach! I enjoy watching students grow and helping them develop their learning skills. I love seeing a child's eyes light up when they grasp a new concept, and the lightbulb goes off when they know they have the correct answer or have mastered something new. Every student has the right to a good education, and I want to make a difference in their lives and prepare them for the road ahead.
Family and Consumer Sciences (FCS) is the comprehensive body of skills, research, and knowledge that helps people make informed decisions about their well-being, relationships, and resources to achieve optimal quality of life.
