About Us

Hello!  My name is Darcy Whitehurst and I will be your child's social studies teacher this year.  This is my 18th year in the district and my 12th year at Mac.  I am currently working on my master's degree in Gifted and Talented this year along with my lead teacher endorsement,  so I am sure that I will be learning lots of interesting ideas to bring back to the classroom!   

I live here in Jonesboro with my husband Steve and our two fur babies, Gaston and Gracie.  Gaston is our nearly 100 pound lab and Gracie is our nearly 90 pound lab/pit mix.   Gracie is our very vocal and sassy, loving miracle baby.  Gaston is big lovable teddy bear.  They don't know they are dogs, they are truly our babies.  We love camping, traveling (especially out west),  do geocaches, and off road (both in our side by side and Jeep!)

I love to visit historical sites, museums, national and state parks.  Essentially any place where I can learn something or that has natural beauty.

My name is Zhariya Davis, and I am graduating senior at Arkansas State University.  I love sports, specifically basketball, having played for many years. I enjoy traveling and visiting new places. I have two dogs, Jaz and Mojo. I am excited to spend the year learning and growing together.
