(ODD Day 1) Sophomore Year Career Academy Selection and Scheduling Finalization for High School Counselors
Standards
Investigate individual abilities, skills, interests, aptitudes and values Arkansas. Keystone. Grades 9, 10.
Develop a career exploration research project Arkansas. Keystone. Grades 9, 10.
Purpose Statement
I Can: Complete a bellringer by completing 2 PPU Task Worksheets and saving them to my Portfolio (Soft/basic skills). Also, I can choose a Career Academy of my liking based off interest assessments, career aptittude assessments, and Standard items, etc. Also, I can finalize my Sophomore year schedule of High School for the High School Counselors to come formally input my schedule in place, etc.
Bellringer (10 Minutes)
Students Will:
Complete/save (Portfolio) 2 task worksheets successfully in PPU, as well as, rename it correctly in chronological order.

Activities (70 Minutes Total)
I do..(10 minutes) Instructed directly, I will instruct students through the bellringer expectations and process (2 PPU Task Worksheets saved to my Portfolio, etc) Also, I will guide the students describing different schedule templates, facilitating the conversation for all in regards to scheduling and Career Academy choice.
We Do..15 minutes) Together, we will talk about the bellrigner (2 PPU Task Worksheets saved successfully to my Portfolio), as well as, discuss factors leading to this point in the semester, reviewing past interest assessments and career aptitude assessments aiding the final choice of Career Academy and Sophomore year schedule, etc.
You Do..(45 minutes) Independently, you, the student, will complete a bellringer by completing/saving 2 PPU task worksheets to your Portfolio successfully, as well as, finalize 1) Career Academy selection of my choice, and 2) Finalize the perfect Sophomore year schedule on the "Academy Choice" document for the High School Counselors approveal, etc.
Differentiaiton: Students that show proficiency in the lesson/google forms can continue work in PPU saving task worksheets to their Portfolio as they continie to enforce and gain soft/basic skills needed for academic and social success. 63 total task worksheets are expected by the end of the semester for full credit.
Assessment
Students will be assessed via a bellringer consisting of 2 PPU Task Worksheets focusing on soft and basic skills related to personal and academic success, etc. (I will save these to my Portfolio). Also, the students will be assessed via review of past interest assessments, career aptitude assessments, and other important documents and tests we took to lead us up to this point in the semester, etc. Also, the students will be assessed via google doc "Academy Choice," and the JHS Course Catalog.
