Welcome to 7th grade!!!!
Hi parents and students,
My name is Jessica Mauldin, as many of you know I have been a paraeducator at Johnstonville Elementary for the last few years. Many students and parents know me as "Ms. Jess". I recently graduated with my BA in General Studies with a concentration in applied mathematics.
My goal for this year is to bring joy and fun back into learning. I will be focusing on preparing students for high school standards and a new level of personal responsibility for their work.
My class motto is:

Current ELA project:
Students are currently researching and preparing to write a 5 paragraph informational essay about a career they would like for the future.
The first draft is due Monday October 16, 2023. Students will be given the entire ELA period to type up their first draft.
Wednesday, October 18th the class will peer edit each other's essays and give feedback.
Friday, October 20th students will type their final draft and submit it by the end of the day.
