Second Grade

My name is Susie Shrum, and I am excited to be your student's 2nd grade teacher. This is my sixth year teaching. I have taught 2nd grade for three years and 2 years in 3rd grade. I also previously worked in the Special Education program in various positions for 9 years before I began my teaching career. I can truly say I love working with kids, and they fill my heart with joy. I love seeing the aha moments while they are learning and growing.

 I have two kids of my own. My son is finishing up his last year at Lassen College and my daughter is completing a dental assistant program. You may see her in one of our local dentist offices. Time is flying by! I also have two fur babies, a dog named Sammie and a cat named Beans.

 We are going to have a fun year together as we learn more about reading, writing, math, social studies, and science. Your student will be coming home with letters with important events that are happening throughout the year and the skills that we are working on.
