I live in Clayton with my husband, daughter, and beagle/pit mix. My husband is my high school sweetheart and we've been together since 2007. He has a Bachelor's degree from NC State in Civil Engineering, but after nearly losing his life in 2013 from a serious work accident, he was led to public service in law enforcement. My daughter, Clara, will be turning five this October. I am AIG and National Board certified as a Middle Childhood Generalist. I am currently working on my Masters in Library and Information Sciences from ECU. My passion is to inspire students to be problem-solvers and to grow their character and academics through reading.
I have been at West Clayton Elementary for 11 years and have had the pleasure of teaching 3rd-5th grades for the first 9 years of my career. I am now the Media Coordinator and work in the library to ensure all students, faculty, and staff have access to media, technology, and library resources to enrich their learning experiences. I am so grateful and excited to get to serve the school in this role and love seeing our students from all grade levels each and every day.
