About Me

My name is Emily Scott, and I have been teaching high school English for seventeen years. I am so thankful to be embark on the journey of educating the student in your care!

• I have a Bachelor's degree in English Literature and a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

• I have a Master's of Arts in Teaching from East Carolina University.

• I am a National Board Certified Teacher.

• I am certified to teach Advanced Placement English Literature and Composition and Advanced Placement English Language and Composition.

• I am the Johnston County 2014-15 Teacher of the Year.

• I am the advisor for the Gay Straight Alliance.

• I am married and have a fifteen-year-old daughter, an eleven-year-old daughter, and an eleven-year-old stepson, and two beagles named Olive and June.

• I love to read, write, bake, hike, and garden.
