Chowan University is now enrolling for our 100% online Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT)
You’re closer than you think to becoming a licensed teacher! The next cohort begins May 26, 2026.
Seats are filling quickly, so we encourage you to start your application as soon as possible.
This 30-credit program (4 semesters) allows you to earn your master’s degree and teaching license while studying online.
Chowan University is also a North Carolina–approved Educator Preparation Program (EPP), which means we can sign your Residency Form if you are currently teaching.
Financial Support is Available for those who qualify - Many of our students qualify for significant funding:TEACH Grant: Up to $4,000 per year // Forgivable Education Loans for Service (FELS): Up to $14,000 per year
