Personal Mission Statement: Do unto others as you would have them do unto you
The Adkins Clan descends from Appalachians who have lived in the hollows since the time of the War of Independence. My particular Adkins branch went west in the late 1950s. The House of Adkins here today is made up of my lovely wife Kimberly, our six children, and our nearest neighbors, my parents. I have a brother that lives with his family in Campbellsville, Kentucky. My sister lives in South Carolina with her family. My other brother still lives in California.
My name is Ronald Andrew Adkins. I was born in Torrance, California, which is a city in Los Angeles County, at UCLA Harbor Medical. My birth date is February 16, 1983.
I grew up in Southern California, with a big family in the late 1980s and 1990s. We had fun at the beach and various amusement parks, including the most famous Disneyland and Knott's Berry Farm.
We had a small farm with many different types of animals. My chores were to help my parents feed, wrangle, and inoculate approximately 100 pigs, amongst other things!
My first job outside of the home was when I was 15 driving the work van for my dad's company. I drove 10,000 miles my first summer. I got my learners permit, my social security card, and my first W-2 tax form all in the same summer.
I graduated from high school, community college, and university.
I met my lovely bride while we both taught the fourth grade Sunday school classes at Sandals Church. Back then our church met in the gym at California Baptist University!
After we got married, my wife and I bought our first home and began a family. We now have six children and have moved across the United States! Our kids now experience childhood away from the hustle and bustle of the busy west coast.
Our family rule is to always stay together, by the Grace of God, and we practice this rule daily, but especially when on vacation!
