My name is Megan Adkins. I am beginning my 10th year of teaching, all of which have been at Highland Elementary. I have taught third grade and second grade, with second grade being my favorite. Previously, I have assisted with the Girls' Basketball Team and Dance Kittens. This will be my second year as a teacher leader and am now a Kagan Coach. I love my job and feel that I have been called to teach. I have been married to Eric Adkins for 24 years and we have two amazing children. Our son Isaac is a junior at JCHS and has played football since he was 5. He also wrestles, competes in field and track, and lifts weights. Our daughter Emma is 11 and is very outgoing. She cheers, plays volleyball and softball. We have 11 pets altogether; 5 dogs, 5 cats and a guinea pig. My husband is the pastor and I am a member of Community Freewill Baptist Church, where I teach Sunday School and Vacation Bible School. In my free time, I love to bake cakes and cookies for people.

Isaac is 17 years old. He enjoys football, wrestling, track and field, weightlifting and golf. We love to watch him play on Friday nights!
Emma is 11 and loves to cheer, play volleyball and softball. She is very creative and even taught herself how to crochet!
We got him for Emma, but I became his favorite person!
Penny is our only inside dog. She's a poodle and so very smart.
Honey is our new kitten. She's so sweet!
Gizmo is the first guinea pig I've ever had. He's so cute whenever he's eating lettuce!
I've been baking cakes since I was young, and still enjoy baking cakes and cookies for people.
I enjoy dress up days as much as my students do.
I enjoy having special days for my students.
Holidays are a fun time in my classroom.
