Personal Mission Statement:Â My goal is to help students become proficient readers while instilling in them a lifelong love for reading and learning. I am dedicated to providing resources and knowledge to parents, empowering them to support their children's reading success. Additionally, I am committed to assisting teachers in finding valuable resources and completing tasks that enable them to better support their students.
Hello, I am Mrs. McClure. With a heartfelt dedication to education, I have had the privilege of teaching for 28 years at Oil Springs and Highland Elementary, covering grades kindergarten through fifth. Currently, I am serving as a Read to Succeed Facilitator for the second consecutive year, helping young minds flourish in their reading journey. Throughout my tenure, I have embraced numerous roles and responsibilities, contributing to the school community in various capacities. As a Lighthouse Team Member and Facilitator, I led initiatives to foster leadership skills and a positive school culture. As a Building Assessment Coordinator (BAC), I participated in decision-making processes to enhance the learning environment. I have also been involved in the textbook and calendar committees, assisting in the selection of educational resources and planning the school calendar. Additionally, I have inspired school spirit and teamwork as a cheerleading coach. My involvement extends to the District Next Generation Leadership Team, where I collaborated on innovative educational strategies for future generations, and I have provided additional support through after-school tutoring. I have also had the honor of serving as a mentor and working with numerous new and student teachers, guiding them as they develop their teaching skills.
I come from a long line of Wildcats; my father and mother graduated from Oil Springs High School, and I attended and graduated alongside my brother and sister from 8th grade at Oil Springs. We are deeply rooted in the school community for generations.
On a personal note, I have been happily married for 28 years and am a proud step-mother to two sons and one daughter. My family continues to grow with four wonderful grandchildren and, most recently, a great-grandchild who brings immense joy to our lives. As an educator, my mission is to inspire and nurture the potential in every student. I believe in the power of education to transform lives and am committed to fostering a love for learning in a supportive and engaging environment. Thank you for visiting my page. I look forward to continuing to make a positive impact in our school community.
