Growing up in a family of educators, I knew that one day I'd follow in their footsteps. Just as expected, I obtained a teaching degree and now I am beginning my 22nd year of teaching in the Johnson County School System! I've been so blessed to teach at both Porter Elementary and Highland Elementary in grades 2-4. Watching kids grow, learn, and succeed is very rewarding and it makes me so proud to follow their journey beyond grade school. Along with teaching, I have coached the Academic Team, Dance Kittens, chaperoned FPS and Choir trips, and been a parent representative on the Site Base Council. This school year, I will add Teacher Leader to my duties.
Along with being a teacher, my other role (and most important) is being a mom and wife. I'm married to Mr. Joey Estep (DPP/JC Softball Coach), and we have two amazing daughters in which we are so proud! Jadyn is a senior (which we are not prepared for) and Mia is a sophomore. They participate in varsity softball, volleyball, swimming, and bowling, along with many school clubs at JCHS. Besides following their busy schedule, we squeeze in time to go camping, visit the beach, and spend time with our large families.
I hope my compassion and understanding always reflect in my interaction with others.
Showing school spirit is always a fun way to interact with the students!
Our youngest fur baby is Ginger. We got her during Covid & she's just the sweetest!
Jadyn is a bowling queen! She's been bowling since 7th grade & this past season was the Individual Regional Champion!
I've hosted several Student Teachers throughout my years of teaching. It's always a fun experience!
Our oldest fur baby is Abbie. She's the most spoiled girl in the house!
Mia is a standout with anything she's involved! She's athletic, bright, and as witty as a gal could be.
