Leadership

 I am beginning my 9th year at Flat Gap Elementary school and have loved every second of being a Greyhound. I currently teach Special Education where I am the Lead Teacher and part of the district Folder Review Committee. We are a new Leader In Me school where I participate as a Light House member and am part of the Leadership Team. I'm also a FSCS Teacher Leader where I have spent the last year completing Kagan Training and have mentored several new teachers. I also currently serve on the Site Base Council as a teacher member. I have coached academics and many various sports throughout the years. My husband, Kyle and I, have two children Kyleigh and Easton. I am looking forward to many more years serving the Flat Gap community and Greyhound students. 

Students are able to browse the “Hiring Now” wall where student leadership jobs are posted by staff members. Students then applied, interviewed, and were chosen as the FGES Birthday Crew led by Mrs. Sublett. These students review birthday’s for the month and take pictures to add birthday shoutouts to our daily news. Student’s gain responsibility and build a sense of self-worth and interdependence. 

As a former MAT student, I would have appreciated having someone who could help support me through my journey. I hope through this group that I am able to provide resources and guidance as fellow MAT program teachers navigate their journey in education and create a positive impact on their students. This group allows MAT teachers to gain valuable support from an experienced educator, network with fellow MAT participants, and receive tips and strategies to succeed in the program.
