Kia Ora, my name is Jennie McMillan. I am very passionate about languages. I began learning Japanese when I lived in Japan in the early 1990's. In 2025, I started learning Mandarin when we had two Mandarin Language Assistants at John Paul II.
The picture above is from 2019, when I went to the Japan Foundation in Kansai. My helmet is the earthquake helmet from my dorm room. The Japanese do not wear helmets, so everyone was looking at me strangely as I went for a bike around the area!
