Volunteers are the heart of our PTA! In San Bruno—the City with a Heart—we believe strong communities are built by people who care. Whether you have an hour, a day, or can volunteer throughout the year, there's a place for you at John Muir PTA. From classrooms and school events to photography, graphic design, website support, and other Community Contributor roles, every volunteer helps make our Jaguar community stronger.

CURRENT VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
Family Movie Night 👥 Need 4-6 Across Shifts 🕒 1-2 Hour Shifts 📅 October 16, Times Vary
Help make Family Movie Night featuring Coco a success! We need a few helping hands throughout the evening with set-up, welcome/sign-in, and clean-up. Choose the time that works best for you and help us create a fun night for our Jaguar families!

Community Ofrenda Setup 👥 Need 2-3 🕒 Approx. 2 Hours 📅 October 30, 4:30pm (time to be confirmed)
Help us bring our community ofrenda to life! We're looking for volunteers to set up, assemble, and decorate the display for Día de los Muertos.

VOLUNTEER REQUIREMENTS
To help keep our students safe, all volunteers who may be left unsupervised with students must complete district paperwork and pass a Live Scan background check.
Good news! Once you're approved, you do not need to repeat this process each year.
Please note:
A background check is required even if you've been screened by another organization.
The cost of the Live Scan is the responsibility of the volunteer and is typically most affordable at a UPS Store.

Complete the required paperwork below.
Bring your paperwork with you to your Live Scan appointment.
Return all completed paperwork to either the District Office or John Muir's office.
Complete required trainings annually.

☐ Complete mandated volunteering. For instructions on creating an account to complete the Mandated Training, please Click HERE. Please remember to choose SB 848 Child Abuse Prevention Training for School Personnel. Certificates of Completion for the mandated training must be turned in to your child's school office. You may also upload to the John Muir portal HERE
☐ Attend one District Volunteer Training conducted by Mrs. Graham. Keep an eye out for her ParentSquare messages with upcoming training dates and details, which are also listed on the PTA calendar.
