Welcome to the Key Stage 4, where we continue to build on the solid foundation of Years 7 and 8, looking into the more complex and difficult ideas about how the world works and is deeply interwoven. We aim not just to look at the theory of science, but connections to current events and news, other subjects within the school, and links to the working world.

Checklists
Below are checklists of all the content you will be examined on at the end of your GCSE course. You can use these are you learn content to assess what you know as you go along, as well as shape your revision as you come to the end of Year 11.
Specifications
At John Colet School, our GCSE students work towards three qualifications in each Biology, Chemistry and Physics. We follow the AQA specifications of work, that can be found here.
Curriculum
Students at John Colet School get the opportunity to explore the three sciences in a spiral, building on the enthusiasm and curiosity that discovering the world of Science brings.
Once students are in KS4, they are taught in the three separate science as they prepare themselves for their futures, post-16, and after education.
The curriculum overviews summarise the journey students take through Science. They are a great opportunity for students and their parents to understand what, why, and how they are going to be taught through their time in Science.
