WHAT IS NHS?
The National Honor Society (NHS) is the nation’s premier organization established to recognize outstanding high school students. More than just an honor roll, NHS serves to recognize those students who have demonstrated excellence in the areas of scholarship, service, leadership, and character. These characteristics have been associated with membership in the organization since its beginning in 1921.
As the only club at JIS that bridges academics and service, our mission is to help the JIS community achieve academic excellence through our help as tutors. We aid the students in a variety of subjects and offer convenient mediums to access our services, such as the SLA, library, and online tutoring. Our goal is to develop academic skills within the student body and foster a collaborative environment.
