I worked as a volunteer at English Goes To Kampung In Sumba during the summer before my junior year of high school. English Goes to Kampung is a non-profit organization that teaches Sumbanese schoolchildren how to read, write, and speak English. I worked with English Goes to Kampung to improve kids with their English pronunciation as well as to teach them how to deliver a speech. The goal of the lesson was to not only educate students on how to make speeches adequately but also to help them gain confidence when speaking in English.
