We, from Jesuits West, want to hear the voices of youth and young adults and learn how we can better serve young people. As part of a formal discernment process, the Jesuits are hosting listening sessions to get a pulse on what young people in the Church need and desire. What emerged from the listening sessions will inform the Discerning Team through a formal process of discernment in common in the first half of 2026. This Team will publish a consolidated report that includes concrete proposals for the Jesuits West Provincial to best respond to the needs of young people.

Your voice matters. The Province will take your input seriously and will respond intentionally and concretely. Your input is vital to the process of discernment and deliberation that will shape these concrete responses. You don't have to be involved in the Church to participate in a listening session. 

Participating means attending a "Speak Up, the Jesuits are Listening" session (either regional or online) to share what you and your peers desire and would like to see from the Church. 

If you are engaged with youth or young adults from one of these populations: high school, college, young professionals, parents with young children and are interested in hosting or facilitating a listening session, please contact Jaclyn at jguerrero@christusministries.org.

All information is kept confidential and only shared with members of the Discerning Team and key Jesuits. Each facilitator will compile a listening session summary and the summaries will be reviewed by the Jesuits to listen to how the Holy Spirit invites the Jesuits West Province to respond. 

Then we invite you to join us for a session with the population that you engage with the most to speak up for their needs. For example, if you are a high school campus minister, please consider facilitating or taking part in a high school listening session.
