Friday Afternoon - Elementary Booktalks

1:30-4:30 Elementary Booktalks with Rosanne Parry (Black Box)

Thousands of children's books are released each year; which do you choose? Local Oregon author and bookseller, Rosanne Parry, will highlight some favorites among this season’s outstanding new titles. The session will include discussion of possible classroom uses, target audience, and why these particular books are so appealing.

Friday Afternoon - Secondary Booktalks

1:30-4:30 Secondary Book Talks with Jerene Battisti and Angelina Benedetti (Choir Room)

Join Battisti and Benedetti as they once again whet your appetite with a feast of new literature for teens and the readers who love them. Divided thematically, this menu presents new fiction and nonfiction for middle school, junior high, and high school readers - including fantasies, biographies, nonfiction, historical fiction, and realistic fiction books. Each participant will take away a fully annotated bibliography of approximately 90 titles, an understanding of recent trends in publishing, and fabulous books to share.
