Xiaoqing Paper Cutting

Xiaoqing is an artist specializing in traditional Chinese paper-cutting. She started learning paper-cutting from her grandma, a renowned artist in local Chinese counties when she was five years old. Since 2012, Xiaoqing has taught hundreds of students how to create traditional Chinese paper-cutting crafts in after school programs and in Chinese schools in the greater Sacramento region. Xiaoqing achieved a breakthrough with her paper-cutting techniques in recent years after she became an apprentice of Master Zheng, one of the most renowned paper-cutting masters in China. Needing only a single piece of paper and scissors, she creates art pieces without drawing or sketching the design beforehand. Taking inspiration from Chinese culture, her creations are unique, vivid, and embedded with the artist's emotions.

Jessup has a heart for the nations and desires to see all people changed by the Gospel of Jesus Christ. To that end, we want to raise up, equip, and send our students to the ends of the earth to engage unreached peoples with the Gospel.
