Mrs. McDermott's 1st Grade

Welcome to 1st grade! 

My name is Donna McDermott, and I am so excited to be your first grade teacher this year at Red Oak!!  We are going to have a great year!  You will be learning to read and understand stories; also how to use numbers to solve everyday problems.  We will learn to become scientists to understand how our world works as well as lots of facts about our state and so much more!! 

About me

I am proud to say that I am one of the original first grade teachers at Red Oak!  Before coming to Red Oak, I was at JELV for 12 years, serving as Reading Specialist, Title 1 Director and Kindergarten teacher. 

 I have three grown children, two grandchildren and two precious little puppies named Ringo & Roxy!
