What is RtI?

Response to Intervention was adopted in Jessamine County in 2010 as a way to reach our lowest performing students and give them the support they need to succeed in school. In the 2017-18 school year, a group of dedicated teachers, administrators, school psychologists came together to revise our district's RTI practices and ensure that the roadmap was clear for every student to master essential grade level standards and have the skills they need to be successful at the next level. The revised RTI Handbook is still in draft form. While the work for tiers 1 and 2 are set, the committee is still working on tier 3 and the final chapters of the handbook. The handbook is based on the book Taking Action: A Handbook for RTI at Work, a Solution Tree resource by Mike Mattos, Austin Buffman and Janet Malone.
