Welcome to 8th Grade Social Studies!
Throughout the year, this website will be used as a resource for both students and families. The goal is for all of us to have an opportunity to keep track of what we are learning in the classroom, even when we are away from it. This is going to be a special year! Go Jaguars!

Meet Mr. Warren
I am originally from a small town in Ohio called, Waynesville (near Dayton). I graduated from Morehead State University (the "Harvard of the South") with a BA in Middle Grades (5-9), with certification in Social Studies. This will be my second year teaching in Jessamine County, and I am extremely excited to continue to work in this great community!
When I'm not in the classroom, you will most likely see me at various sporting events. While I still enjoy playing golf, my attention has now turned to the coaching/fan aspect of a variety of sports. I am also the Head Coach of the Boys Basketball Program here at EJMS. I am very excited to get the season started! My other interests include reading, music, traveling and of course, anything U.S. history related!
Mission Statement
The mission of the 8th grade social studies department is to forge a unifying identity by studying and questioning our past in order to create an understanding and acceptance of our individual differences therefore preparing students to become responsible and civically engaged citizens of the United States of America.
