בית ספר אלומים, השוכן בשכונת הדגן, הינו מרחב צמיחה לילדים בכיתות א'-ו'.

בית הספר משתייך לזרם המשלב בו לומדים יחדיו ילדים מבתים דתיים, מסורתיים וחילוניים. אנו מאמינים בקיום חיים משותפים, הנותנים מקום למורכבות ולשונות שיש בינינו. על ידי הכרות של דעות שונות והעמקה בשיח מעורר חשיבה, הזהות האישית של הילד ושל הבית ממנו הוא בא עשויה להתחזק ולהתחדד. בבית הספר, משפחה לא נדרשת להגדיר את הזרם הדתי שלה, והדרישות בתחום התורני מכל ילד מותאמות לדרך אותה מתווים הוריו (לבוש, תפילה ועוד). האוירה בבית הספר מבוססת על כבוד הדדי ועל קבלה של כל אדם ללא שיפוטיות.

גישות ההוראה והלמידה שלנו מתאפיינות בעשיה ויצירה של מורים ותלמידים, תוך מתן דגש לביטוי עצמי ואקטיביות של הלומד. בבית ספרנו, גם המורים לומדים ועוברים תהליכי חשיבה ויישום של שיטות פדגוגיות שונות. אנו מעדיפים שהתלמידים יהיו פעילים, יעברו תהליכי העמקה והטמעה בלמידה, גם אם הדבר יבוא על חשבון הספק של חומר רב. כמובן, לידע חשיבות רבה, ועל כן אנו מציעים לתלמידינו גיוון בתחומי הידע מתוך מטרה לגרות אותם לסקרנות ולהמשך למידה.

להלן מספר דוגמאות לתכניות ייחודיות שאנו מקיימים, אשר מבטאות את רוח בית הספר:

יום גוונים – מתוך רצון ללמד ילדים לבחור ולפתח בהם תחומים וחוזקות שאינם נכללים בתכנית הלימודים הרגילה, יצרנו יום מיוחד – "יום גוונים". ביום זה, המתקיים בכל שבוע באופן קבוע, כל תלמיד בוחר לעצמו ארבעה קורסים מתוך מגוון רחב של קורסים, כגון: מלאכות יד, חקלאות, נגינה, תיאטרון, תנועה, מדעי כדור הארץ ועוד. הקורסים מתקיימים בקבוצות רב גילאיות, ועל אף שהדבר בא על חשבון שעות המערכת ה"רגילות", אנו מאמינים כי הילדים נתרמים רבות מיום זה, מועצמים, מפתחים יצירתיות ולומדים תחומים חדשים מרחיבי אופקים.

מפגש בוקר – הבוקר נפתח בכיתות בשמיעת שיר שבועי ובביצוע פעילות רגשית –דיאלוגית עם מחנכת הכיתה. הרגלי שיח, התבוננות עצמית ותהליכי חשיבה וביקורת חשובים לנו ואנו מקדישים להם זמן ומשאבים בסדר היום.

תעודות - תהליך המשוב וההערכה אותו אנו מקיימים בבית הספר, הינו תהליך רב שלבי המשתף את התלמידים ואת ההורים ומזמן התבוננות משותפת על התהליכים שעובר התלמיד. שיאו של התהליך הוא ה"מפגשוקו" - זמן איכות של ילד והורה בו הילד מקבל את התעודה, שבחלקה הגדול היא פרי יצירתו, ויחד עם המורה מציבים מטרות אישיות.

Alumim School, located in the Dagan neighborhood, is for children in grades 1-6.

The school serves children from religious, traditional, and secular homes. We believe in living and learning side by side, and making space for the complexity and diversity that exists between us. By encountering different opinions and engaging in thought-provoking conversations, we can strengthen the personal identity of each child and of the home they come from. At school, families are not required to define their religious path, and the religious requirements of each child are in line with the guidelines outlined by each child’s parents (clothing, prayer, etc.). The atmosphere in the school is one of mutual respect and acceptance of each person without judgment.

Our approach to teaching and learning focuses on encouraging creativity amongst our students with emphasis on self-expression and active learning. In our school, teachers also learn. They go through thought processes and apply different pedagogical methods. We want our students to remain active throughout the day, and to develop the ability to think about and process what they have learned. Knowledge is very important, and we therefore offer diversity in what we teach, with the aim of stimulating curiosity and further learning.

Here are some examples of unique programs that reflect the spirit of the school:

Electives Day- In order to teach children to choose and develop areas and strengths that are not included in the regular curriculum, we created Electives Day, which takes place once a week. On this day, each student chooses four courses from a wide range of offerings, including: crafts, agriculture, music, theater, movement, earth sciences, and more. The courses are held in multi-age groups, and although this comes at the expense of "regular" learning, we believe that this day empowers children to develop creativity and learn new things that expand their horizons.

Morning Huddle - We open each morning in the classroom by listening to the school’s song-of-the-week and engaging in a dialogue with the teacher. Conversational habits, self-observation, and thought processes are important to us, and we devote time and resources to them in our schedule.

Report Cards - The feedback and evaluation process that we conduct at the school is a multi-stage process that involves students and parents. We take time to jointly observe the progress that each student has made. This process culminates in a biannual "Meeting over shoko" that consists of quality time between the parent and the child as each child receives their report card, which is the fruit of their own creation. Together with their parents and their teacher, the student sets personal goals for the future.
