AI literacy is the knowledge and skills that enable people to critically understand, evaluate, and use AI systems and tools to safely and effectively participate in an increasingly digital world
We commit to open communication about how AI is used.
Students, parents, and staff will always know what AI tools are being implemented and why.
AI must reflect our district’s values.
We will use these tools in ways that respect individual rights, uphold privacy, and support responsible digital citizenship.
AI should expand—not limit—access to learning.
We aim to use AI to promote inclusion, reduce bias, and ensure every student benefits from new opportunities.
Humans remain responsible for all AI-assisted decisions.
Educators and leaders will oversee AI systems to ensure fairness, accuracy, and alignment with educational goals.
Protecting student and staff data is non-negotiable.
We follow federal and state laws - including CIPA, COPPA, FERPA, and Ed Law 2-d to safeguard privacy and maintain trust.
AI is evolving, and so are we.
We regularly review our practices, gather feedback, and refine our approach to ensure AI continues to serve students’ best interests.
Note:
These beliefs guide our decisions rather than prescribe one-size-fits-all rules. AI will look different across subjects—what’s effective in English may differ from how it’s used in Math or Science. Our goal is to collaborate with educators and the community to keep these beliefs relevant and meaningful.
What is Skill Struck all about?
We create learning opportunities for all K-12 students, regardless of background, abilities, or zip code, to develop workforce-ready technical skills. Our platforms include Launch Pad (K-5), Voyage (6-12), Type Station (K-10), and Chat for Schools, each designed to support different stages of a student’s computer science and AI journey. There are educator portals in every platform to track student progress and view data. With engaging curriculum, built-in supports, and real-world applications, Skill Struck is where future-ready learning begins.
