The ACT contains four multiple-choice tests—English, mathematics, reading, and science—and an optional writing test.
Test scores reflect what students have learned throughout high school and provide colleges and universities with excellent information for recruiting, advising, placement, and retention.
The ACT is not an aptitude or an IQ test. Questions are directly related to what students have learned in high school courses.
Why take the ACT
How much does the ACT Cost
If you are eligible, you may use a maximum of four separate fee waivers total. The waiver is used once you register, even if you do not test on the requested test date. IMPORTANT: To take full advantage of the waiver, you must follow through and test on your registered test date.
Ask your counselor for a waiver when registering for the ACT
Once you use all four of your waivers you will have to pay. The cost to take the ACT is $55.00
Preparing for the ACT
Once your student registers for the ACT using their waiver, they will have access to online test prep through ACT. This free online test preparation is good for a year after first registration.
