Team Building

Team building is a focus as we bring together our scholars from all of our elementaries. It has been a great opportunity for both students and staff to get to know one another and build relationships.

Mrs. Goevert

Students are building skills that are needed to be successful in the coming school year. The are building skills through cooperative learning and math games. We are also working on STEM activities they require math and science skills. The kids are also learning about how much I love dogs!

Ms. Jefferson

Students will learn the knowledge and skills needed to be successful in postsecondary education and or training that lead to gainful employment or entrepreneurship. We will learn the importance of being a lifelong learner in order to advance in choice careers. Students explore admission expectations of various Universities of their choice.

Mrs. Keys

In this Newbery Honor novel, New York Times bestselling author Rita Williams-Garcia tells the story of three sisters who travel to Oakland, California, in 1968 to meet the mother who abandoned them. A strong option for summer reading—take this book along on a family road trip or enjoy it at home.

This moving, funny novel won the Scott O'Dell Award for Historical Fiction and the Coretta Scott King Award and was a National Book Award Finalist. Delphine, Vonetta, and Fern's story continues in P.S. Be Eleven and Gone Crazy in Alabama.

Mr. Titsworth

This summer the students will have an opportunity to study Black American History. We will be looking at the aspects from the Middle Passage, Jim Crow, Tulsa, Elaine and East Saint Louis Massacres of the 1900's, Harlem Renaissance, Black Excellence, and Black Lives Matter. I want my students to understand the impact history has had on Americans of color that is rich, diverse, and culturally relevant for the students of JJJH.

mr. davis & Ms. gage
