Abigail Chow
Abigail is a Finance and Accounting major with minors in Spanish and Innovation and Entrepreneurship at the University of Tulsa where she is a recipient of the Presidential Scholarship and the Friends of Finance Scholarship. Abigail serves as Senator for the Collins College of Business and Chair of the Student Engagement Committee on the Dean’s Undergraduate Advisory Board. Abigail is the Founder and Director of Red Equity Oklahoma and was selected to be part of the Bank of America Student Leader 2023 Cohort.
Alexis Lund
Alexis is a graduate of Jenks High School and a current student at the University of Oklahoma. She is an Oklahoma Reagent’s Scholar and is studying French and Community Health. At Jenks High School, Alexis was a member of the International Scholars Program.
Sazel Pokharel
Sazel is a second-year Electrical Engineering student at the Colorado School of Mines. Sazel is a Harvey Scholar at Mines, a full-tuition scholarship of 12 students per incoming school year. The scholarship’s motto is “paying it forward” through community service and giving back to others. At Jenks High School, Sazel was in the International Scholars Program, President of Science Olympiad, and a National Honor Society member.
Matthew Williams
Matthew is a student at the University of Notre Dame. Matthew is studying International Economics with an East Asian concentration. He is also a member of the Glynn Family Honors Scholar Program. Matthew was a member of the International Scholars Program at Jenks High School and took AP Human Geography his senior year. He plans to continue using the lens of a human geographer through future research and his career.
Abigail, Alexis, Sazel, and Matthew recently published a paper with Dr. McCrackin about linking Human Geography concepts to their ISP senior year travel in Vietnam, Cambodia, and Thailand. https://www.tandfonline.com/doi/full/10.1080/19338341.2024.2373703
Elaine Gao recently authored and published a book "The Oracle." It is available on amazon.com. She also published a paper entitled "The Relationship between Recreational International Travel Experience, Openness to Experience and Cultural Intelligence in High School Students. This paper can be found in Knowledge Cultures Vol. 11(2) in 2023. Please consider supporting Elaine's writing endeavors.
Elaine is a member of our 2024 cohort.
Morgan Berry, a 2021 ISP graduate is currently a member of the Global Engagement Fellowship at OU, where she has the chance to take part in multiple study abroad opportunities. She was also named Miss Teen Oklahoma 2021 and placed in the top 15 nationally.
2021 ISP graduate Anna Tharakan is currently attending Duke University where she was recently appointed Vice President of External Affairs of the Healthy Hands Initiative, a nonprofit aimed at providing water pumps in rural communities in Northern India. She is also engaged in multiple endeavors as a research assistant.
