Thursday, January 29th, we joining other schools for a virtual live stream event with author Kate Messner. She will share the story behind her new graphic novel CAMP MONSTER, illustrated by Falynn Koch. She'll offer a peek behind the scenes at the process of storyboarding and scripting graphic novels, as well as character creation. Messner will also guide kids through a mini-writing workshop to create their own characters for Camp Monster. The webinar will wrap up with live Q&A from the audience.
Registration is available for the first 50 students in grades 4-6, through their homeroom teacher. Once the max is reached, registration will be closed.
Posts have been made on each of the grade level's Media Center Google Classrooms with the flyer and links for the synopsis and book trailer, as well as a video of the author reading the first chapter.
There will be books raffled off to one student in each grade level, using the list of registered attendees.
