Jefferson Township Public Schools is enthusiastic and proud to showcase a challenging and interest-based academic program at JTHS: the STEM Academy. The mission of the JTHS STEM Academy is to provide select students a rigorous and engaging high school experience in the interdisciplinary studies of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. Starting in the 25-26 school year, students in the STEM Academy will be able to select coursework based on three "pathways": Science/Pre-med, Engineering or Computer Science. The program culminates with students taking part in AP Capstone, an AP College Board program that covers Junior and Senior studies in AP Seminar and AP Research. Successful students will also earn an "AP Capstone Diploma" from College Board.
The application window is now closed.

JTHS STEM Academy students in their CAD 1 cohort with Mr. Nicholas were fortunate enough to learn all about the Hillier College of Architecture and Design at NJIT from active professional architect and NJIT faculty member Mrs. Stacey Kliesch. Their hard work sets them apart from the crowd and earns them unique opportunities like this as they prepare for their future. Looking forward to visiting NJIT campus in Fall 2024!
JTHS STEM Academy staff and students demonstrated their Robotics skills on 12/3 at Christmas in the Village here in town. Young Jefferson residents and future Falcons were excited to interact with our robots and see how they performed challenges. Thanks to Jefferson Arts Committee for inviting us to this great event!
On Saturday, 10/28, JTHS STEM staff and students joined forces with Jefferson Township BOE buildings and grounds staff to paint new handicapped parking spaces in 31 spots across the district. This effort was spearheaded by Mr. Nicholas and his students who designed and laser cut stencils of the most updated and inclusive ADA logo. Students were thrilled to learn how to use the line painting machine and they made a positive impact on their community.
History! JTHS Senior and Aviation student, Michael Czajkowski took control of the cockpit in his first flight on the path toward becoming a licensed pilot. This the first of what we hope will be many of our Aviation students taking to the skies! This course is available to STEM Academy students and scheduling preference is given due to your heavy Math, Science & Engineering course work. Ask your Counselor for more information.

JTHS STEM Academy student cohorts spent time team building with other cohorts including our rising 9th graders who came from the middle school to join us. They bonded over STEM activities and had a great time!
