Hello and welcome back Health Science Academy students. My name is Mary Ann Tackett and I am your Health Science Academy Counselor. I am starting my 21st year in education and 10th year at Waggener High School. Starting a school year virtually is something we have never done before, but we had never ended one online until last school year, and we made it through together! Know that “virtual learning’ is still new for all of us and that we are all learning as we go. My focus is get each and every one of you virtually connected so that you can participate and engage with your classmates and teachers.
As your counselor, I am here to provide support and resources for all of your academic, personal/social, and transition needs to help you graduate college and career ready and be a responsible citizen. Please do not hesitate to reach out to me! If I don’t know the answer, I will guide you in the right direction, because we are ALL in this together and will get through this together!
Please check out my virtual office below. There are many resources linked within the office to help ensure that we stay connected during NTI. There is a short video on the Waggener Union home page that will walk you through navigating it. Even though we are still in some challenging times, I am ready to embrace our new normal and get back into a routine, ready to see students faces, and ready to start what I know is going to be a great year!
