Mission

Advancing the academic, social and personal progress of each child as individuals who graduate prepared to use their own unique gifts and abilities as engaged members of the community…one Wildcat at a time.

The Waggener Guidance Program has been developed to follow the American School Counselor Association (ASCA) model for counseling programs. Counselors provide guidance to all students regarding individual progress toward meeting state graduation requirements. College counseling is available for students who need extra support in the college application, financial aid and scholarship processes. Individual brief counseling is also available for students as needed. Individual sessions are short term in nature and address mental, physical and emotional barriers to learning. A safe, confidential setting is provided; one in which students can present their personal needs and concerns. Referrals to the Family Youth Resource Center and outside mental health agencies are made as needed.
