Create and laminate a Handbook that goes over the steps for each meeting a Leader (scout) may need.
Meet Schedule:
"Would you rather" questions to discuss while snacking
Don't forget, NO TRACE LEFT BEHIND (Leader for the day is in charge of this)
The Caller: One person who stands at the front and gives the commands.
The Color Guard: Usually 3–4 scouts. One carries the American Flag (on the right), one carries the Girl Scout Flag (on the left), and others may serve as "guards" walking behind them.
Flag Placement: The American Flag should always be the first one placed and should be situated to the right of the speaker (the audience's left).
Movement: All movements should be slow, deliberate, and silent.
Note: If you are outdoors and using a flagpole, replace "Post the Colors" with "Color Guard, Raise the Colors."
"Girl Scouts, Honor Guard, Attention." Everyone stands tall, hands at sides, and stops talking.
"Color Guard, Advance." The Color Guard (those carrying the flags) walks slowly toward the front.
"Color Guard, Post the Colors." The flags are placed into their stands.
"Color Guard, Honor your Colors." The Color Guard takes a step back and salutes the flag (or places hands over hearts).
"Please join us in the Pledge of Allegiance." The audience recites the Pledge.
Pledge of Allegiance
"I pledge allegiance to the Flag
of the United States of America,
and to the Republic for which it stands,
one Nation under God, indivisible,
with liberty and justice for all"
"Please join us in the Girl Scout Promise." Everyone makes the Girl Scout sign and recites the Promise.
"Color Guard, Dismissed." The Color Guard walks back to the rear of the room.
"Girl Scouts, Dismissed." The ceremony is over; the audience may sit or move to the next activity.
