Starting or ending your day focusing on small positive things can help grow a stronger relationship with your student AND create a surge of feel good hormones in your brain which decreases depression and stress. Check out these conversation prompts that you can use with your student.


Telling someone they need to "calm down" doesn't always work and can often make them more agitated. If your student is showing you that they are stressed/annoyed/angry, try walking them through one of these breathing techniques. Breathing together is a great way for both of you to manage stress.
